Site Creation

Basin Sites turns any Basin form into a hosted, AI-generated landing page. This guide walks through creating your first page, customizing it, and publishing it live.

Step 1: Start a New Landing Page

  1. Sign up for a Basin account at usebasin.com
  2. From your dashboard, go to Sites and click New Landing Page
  3. Choose the project the page belongs to

Step 2: Describe Your Business

Fill in the Your Business section:

  • Business name — shown throughout your generated page
  • What does your business do? — a short description Basin uses to write your page copy and pick the right form fields for your visitors

The more specific this description is, the better Basin can tailor your headline, sections, and lead form.

Step 3: Choose a Look and Feel

Under Look and Feel, you can either:

  • Let Basin choose colors automatically, or
  • Pick a color theme yourself from the theme picker and set a brand color

You can also add optional style notes — describe the look you want, or paste a URL to a site whose style you'd like to match. Style notes override the selected theme.

Step 4: Add Assets (Optional)

Drop in a logo (shown in the header) and any images you'd like Basin to use for the hero, background, team, or gallery sections. You can skip this step and add assets later.

Step 5: Generate Your Page

Click Generate Landing Page. Basin will:

  • Write page copy based on your business description
  • Create a lead capture form tailored to your use case
  • Assemble a full landing page using your chosen theme and assets

This usually takes about a minute. Once it's done, you'll land on your site's page where you can preview and keep editing.

Step 6: Review and Refine

From your site's page you can:

  • Preview your draft in desktop or mobile view before anyone else sees it
  • Apply Changes — describe what you want changed in plain English (e.g. "add a FAQ section" or "make the hero more minimal") and Basin regenerates the page
  • Change Color Scheme or Look and Feel at any time
  • Browse Version History and roll back to any previous version

Each site has a weekly edit budget for AI-generated changes. If you run out, you can wait for it to renew or contact support.

Step 7: Configure Your Form Settings

Because every Basin Sites page is backed by a real Basin form, you get the same form features:

  • Notification emails — get notified when someone submits your lead form
  • Auto-response emails — automatically reply to visitors who submit
  • Captcha / spam protection — enable reCAPTCHA or hCaptcha directly from your site's settings
  • Webhooks — send submissions to other tools in real time

Step 8: Publish

Click Publish Page to make your draft live. Until you publish, only you can view the page at its draft preview link.

Once published, your page is available at a free *.basin.site preview URL. If you'd like your own branded domain (e.g. yourbrand.com), you can set one up from your site's page — custom domains are available on paid plans.

What's Next?

  • Add a custom domain to your site instead of the default preview URL
  • Set up spam protection on your lead form
  • Review submissions from your landing page's form in your Basin dashboard
  • Keep iterating — describe more changes any time to refine your page
