Account Management: Overview

Welcome to Basin's account management documentation! This section covers everything you need to manage your Basin account, from personal settings to security features and billing.

Whether you're updating your profile, enabling two-factor authentication, or managing API access, you'll find all the information you need here.

Accessing Account Settings

To access your account settings:

  1. Log in to your Basin account at usebasin.com
  2. Click your avatar or profile icon in the top navigation
  3. Select Account Settings from the dropdown menu

Or navigate directly to usebasin.com/app/account_settings.

Account Settings Overview

General Settings

Manage your personal information and preferences:

  • Avatar: Upload a custom profile image (PNG or JPG, max 500x500px)
  • Personal Info: Update your first name, last name, and display preferences
  • Timezone: Set your default timezone for submission timestamps and scheduling
  • Demo Submissions: Toggle automatic demo submissions for new forms
  • Backup Email: Add a backup email for account recovery and important notifications

Security Settings

Protect your Basin account:

  • Password Management: Update your password (requires current password verification)
  • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): Enable 2FA using an authenticator app or email codes
  • Connected Services: Manage OAuth connections (Google, GitHub, Facebook, Twitter)

API Settings

Access programmatic features:

  • Basin API Key: View and regenerate your account-wide API key for full API access

Form API Keys

Individual form API keys (for Zapier and integrations) are found in each form's Integrations settings, not in Account Settings.

Billing Settings

Manage your subscription and payments:

  • Current Plan: View your active subscription tier
  • Usage Statistics: Monitor submissions, storage, and collaborator counts
  • Chat Credits: Manage Basin Chat credit balance and auto top-up settings
  • Payment Methods: Add, update, or remove credit cards
  • Invoice History: View and download past invoices

Account Deletion

If you need to delete your Basin account:

  1. Navigate to Account Settings → General Settings
  2. Scroll to the bottom and click Delete Account
  3. Provide your password for verification
  4. Optionally share feedback about why you're leaving

Permanent Deletion

Deleting your account permanently removes all data including projects, forms, and submissions. This action cannot be undone. Make sure to export any data you need before deletion.
